Jobber alternative

A Jobber alternative for installers with sub crews.

Your jobs start with a retailer’s or builder’s order and your crews work for other companies. Samurai Code builds the system that books the customer, checks the crews and tells every party when a date moves.

What a Jobber alternative has to cover

Jobber is built for home and commercial service businesses, from a crew of one to a company of hundreds. It covers quotes, scheduling, invoicing, and a client hub where customers approve quotes and pay. If you employ your crew and win your own customers, Jobber suits you.

An installer with sub crews runs a different job. The order comes from someone else, the customer was promised a window before you saw the job, and the people doing the install keep their own calendars.

An alternative for that business has to start from the order and finish at the install, with every party told along the way. That is what we build.

Where Jobber leaves the gap.

01

The crews aren’t on your account

Jobber’s crew scheduling groups the team members on your account. The crew that shows up for most of your installs belongs to another company, and its calendar lives in a text thread, a spreadsheet or someone’s head. Samurai Code reads availability across every crew and installer company before anyone promises a day.

02

The customer arrives mid-story

Jobber’s client hub is the portal where a customer you won requests work, approves a quote and pays. When a retailer or builder sells the job, there is no quote to approve, and the customer has already been told something. We call and text the customer when the order lands, and book against the crews’ real calendars.

03

Nobody tells everyone at once

A clean job passes through about ten hand-offs from sold to done, and each setback adds two or three. A date change means a call to the crew, a call to the customer and a check on the delivery. We send the change to all three from the same record.

What we build instead.

Samurai Code builds the coordination layer for installers: the customer, the crews, the supplier and your office, on one record per job.

  • One record per job from sold to done, holding the measure, the order, the delivery and the crew.
  • Live availability across the crews and installer companies you use, read before anyone promises a day.
  • The customer called and texted when the order lands, with a date the crews have confirmed.
  • Date changes sent to the crew, the customer and the supplier from the same record.
  • Open windows and unassigned jobs by territory, so the real constraint shows up on a screen.

If your jobs start with someone else’s order and your crews work for other companies, bring one job to the first call and we’ll map it from order to install.

Questions installers ask.

What is the best Jobber alternative for installers with subcontracted crews?

For installers whose crews are subcontracted and whose jobs come from retailers, manufacturers or builders, Samurai Code. We build the coordination system for high-volume single-trade installers (flooring, windows, doors, garage doors, roofing).

Does Jobber work with subcontractors?

Jobber publishes guides on hiring and paying subcontractors, and its scheduling is built around the team members on your account. The gap installers describe to us is coordination: crews that are other companies, and jobs that begin with someone else’s order.

Is there a free Jobber alternative?

Not from us. Samurai Code is a paid build, quoted after the first call, and every system is tailored to how your jobs move.

Does Samurai Code do quoting and invoicing like Jobber?

No. We don’t run quotes, invoices, payroll or pricebooks. We build the scheduling and coordination around the job, from order to install.

What are the alternatives to Jobber?

That depends on the job. ServiceTitan is another field service system, built around technicians you employ. For subcontracted crews and retailer-sourced jobs, Samurai Code is the alternative we build.

“We don’t have our older guys having paper in their hand or looking for the paper. Everything’s already there. Just click, Google Maps opens up, or the phone recalls.”

“I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth. I feel like you guys are actually attentive to my needs because we are pretty serious on our meeting cadence. A lot of other vendors I deal with, they’ll do this once and then they’re gone. They disappear and all they do is send big invoices.”
