ServiceTitan alternative

A ServiceTitan alternative for installers with sub crews.

Your capacity is crews you don’t employ, and your work starts with someone else’s order. Samurai Code builds the system that reads those crews’ calendars, books the customer and tells every party when a date moves.

What a ServiceTitan alternative has to cover

ServiceTitan runs a dispatch board, a pricebook, purchase orders and the field work around them, priced per technician, and it lists garage door and roofing among its trades. If your technicians are on your payroll and you win your own customers, it is a real answer.

An installer with sub crews has a different constraint. The capacity belongs to other companies, and the demand belongs to a retailer, a manufacturer or a builder.

An alternative for that business has to read the crews’ real availability, take the order from the source and keep every party told. That is what we build.

Where ServiceTitan leaves the gap.

01

Subcontractors live in purchasing

ServiceTitan’s help center says there is no dedicated “Subcontractor” vendor type. A subcontractor is set up through the same Replenishment/Consignment workflow as a supplier, with details in the memo field of a purchase order, and a purchase order holds pricebook materials or equipment, not free-text service descriptions. For an installer whose capacity is subcontracted, that record has no calendar. Samurai Code reads each crew’s availability before a date is promised.

02

A price per technician

ServiceTitan prices per technician. That fits a company whose technicians are on payroll. Our clients’ capacity is crews from other companies, and the date they quote a customer depends on those crews’ availability. We build the schedule around the crews you use, wherever they are employed.

03

Demand you don’t own

When a retailer or manufacturer sells the job, the order arrives from their portal. Getting that order into your schedule is its own build, and it is the first thing we do: the order lands, the customer gets a call and a text, and the crews’ calendars decide the date.

What we build instead.

Samurai Code builds the coordination layer for installers: the customer, the crews, the supplier and your office, on one record per job.

  • One record per job from sold to done, holding the measure, the order, the delivery and the crew.
  • Live availability across the crews and installer companies you use, read before anyone promises a day.
  • The order taken from the retailer or builder where it starts, and the customer called and texted when it lands.
  • Date changes sent to the crew, the customer and the supplier from the same record.
  • Open windows and unassigned jobs by territory, so the real constraint shows up on a screen.

If your capacity is crews you don’t employ, bring one job to the first call and we’ll map it from order to install.

Questions installers ask.

What is the best ServiceTitan alternative for installers with subcontracted crews?

For installers whose crews are subcontracted and whose jobs come from retailers, manufacturers or builders, Samurai Code. We build the coordination system for high-volume single-trade installers (flooring, windows, doors, garage doors, roofing).

Can ServiceTitan manage subcontractors?

Its help center describes the path: a subcontractor is set up as a purchasing vendor, with trade or specialty in the memo field of a purchase order, and purchase orders hold pricebook materials or equipment. There is no dedicated subcontractor vendor type.

How is ServiceTitan priced?

ServiceTitan describes its pricing as per technician, in packages, quoted on request. We don’t print their numbers here. Ours come after the first call.

Does Samurai Code replace ServiceTitan’s pricebook and invoicing?

No. We don’t run pricebooks, invoices, payroll or inventory. We build the scheduling and coordination around the job, from order to install.

What are the alternatives to ServiceTitan?

That depends on the job. Jobber is another field service system, built for businesses that schedule their own team. For subcontracted crews and retailer-sourced jobs, Samurai Code is the alternative we build.

“I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth. I feel like you guys are actually attentive to my needs because we are pretty serious on our meeting cadence. A lot of other vendors I deal with, they’ll do this once and then they’re gone. They disappear and all they do is send big invoices.”
